Expensive Exchange

I was today years old when I realized bitterness cancels God‘s grace in our lives – that’s huge.

Have you ever felt the ease of life lift? Have you felt irritable? Have things been “sticky“ where they weren’t before? Maybe the grace God over your life has been partially, or fully, lifted.

I was today years old when I realized bitterness cancels God‘s grace in our lives – that’s huge. I read a verse in Hebrews with a cause-effect relationship:

“See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled” - Hebrews 12:15

Abiding in bitterness? Residual resentment? God‘s grace goes away. I don’t know about you, but that’s a trade I don’t want.

The world is crazy right now. Politics, inflation (egg prices!), disunity, irritation, frustration, resentment, anger, bitterness, envy, strife is rampant…especially where I reside (a predominant anti-Trump area). I NEED God‘s grace to be able to swim in all that muck, to let it slide past; not mark, harm, or influence me. Bitterness, resentment, anger - have no place in my life. They are too expensive!

Root out any bitterness Lord, any resentment, anger, lingering irritation towards another. Root it all out. Replace it with your Spirit, with Peace, with Contentment..I need your grace over my life. I can’t live without it.
